Welcome to the website of Alabama A & M University (AAMU) School of Graduate Studies. As a land-grant university with a 125 year old history, AAMU offers graduate degrees at the Masters and PhD levels in such fields as agriculture, business administration, computer science, education, physics, social work, urban and regional planning, and others. Excellence in graduate education is a vital part of our mission and is supported by the dedication of our talented, diverse, and productive faculty. The graduate student population makes up approximately 20% of the student body or about 1300 students. Graduate students who complete our programs successfully are perfectly positioned to enter into exciting professional careers with industry, government, and academia.

The university is nestled in the Huntsville, Alabama, historically known as “Rocket City” from its earlier history in the development of the defense and space industries. Home to Marshall Space Flight Center and Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville is a dynamic and growing city of about 370,000 in the metro area.
